NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS! The Community and Neighborhood Matching Grants (CNMG) program began in 2000 with the adoption of Council Resolution 4632. In that time we’ve funded 156 projects in our neighborhoods. The benefits of the CNMG program go well beyond the financial investment and are an important tool for building community, creating connections and improving our neighborhoods, parks and natural areas.
The purpose of the Community & Neighborhood Matching Grant Program is to encourage Eugene residents to collaboratively identify and actively participate in making improvements in their neighborhoods and the broader community through their neighborhood association, community group or ad hoc group. Community member involvement and building relationships are key components of the program and are encouraged by requiring that:
the project budget include a match amount equal to, or greater than, the grant request;
communication with and general support of the neighborhood association impacted or the Neighborhood Leaders Council;
and documentation of neighborhood and/or community support and involvement (including underrepresented and historically marginalized communities) .
Demonstrating responsible stewardship of our community assets through the lens of diversity, equity and inclusion while balancing our community’s social, economic and environmental values are additional components of any project proposal submitted. Projects that foster community pride and inspire a broad sense of belonging will be given extra consideration.
Applications open November 15, 2023 and remain open while allocated funds for the biennium fiscal year are available. Funded projects must be completed by June 1, 2025.
