Halloween Downtown

Saturday, October 29, 2022 • 12-5 p.m.

Free

Get your costumes ready and come downtown for a free family friendly Downtown Halloween celebration. You’ll find trick-or-treating, costumed entertainment, a frightfully fun scavenger hunt, a live DJ, food and craft vendors, a photo booth, flash mobs and even a pet parade!

It’s all happening on W. Broadway between Charnelton and Oak.

Trick-or-Treating

Each participating business will be marked with a flag to welcome little ghouls and goblins for trick-or-treating.

Gifts from Glamour Girls

Glamour Girl Unlimited and Betty Snowden will be providing fun times, hands-on activities by 4H and free gifts! Visit 125 W. Broadway for a special trick-or-treat delight.

Pet Parade

Show off your fabulous furry friends’ best costumes. Meet us with your leashed little ones at 2 p.m. on the southwest corner of 10th and Charnelton near the St. Mary’s parking lot (no parking allowed in the lot). Raining Slug Queen Sativa Slugworth will lead our parade down Charnelton St. and W. Broadway, ending at Oak St. All participants will receive a free raffle ticket for a chance to win special prizes and awards will be given in three categories: Pet that Looks Most Like Their Human, Most Creative Costume, and Most Hilarious. A limited supply of pet costumes are generously on loan from the Greenhill Humane Society and will be available to borrow at the event.

Scavenger Hunt

Take a stab at our Halloween Scavenger Hunt. Pick up a copy during the event at the Cultural Services table in front of the Broadway Commerce Center at 44 W. Broadway. Return your completed scavenger hunt for a raffle ticket and a chance to win prizes from local businesses.

Music and Vendors

Get into your groove as DJ Tinta Turnter plays spooky tunes near the delicious food carts in Kesey Square, then wander down Broadway for music, activities and shopping. Don’t forget to swing by the Lane County Farmers Market at the Farmers Market Pavilion before they close at 3 p.m.

Roaming Spirits

While wandering about, keep a lookout for roaming spirits. They could be on stilts, on wheels or perhaps performing magical tricks for Halloween fun. How many can you find?

Souvenir Photos

Stop by the photo booth between 1-4 p.m. in the Broadway Commerce Center at 44 W. Broadway for a free souvenir photo of your haunted day, printed onsite.

Frightful Flash Mobs

Rumor has it that ghoulish troupes may be summoned to perform epic dance routines throughout the afternoon. Keep an eye out for the waltzing witches of Eugene Hexenbrut and the zigzagging zombies of Thrill the World.

Information Booth

Visit the Cultural Services booth at 44 W. Broadway during the event to learn more, or to pick up your scavenger hunt guide.

Parking

The Overpark (10th & Oak) and Parcade (8th & Willamette) garages provide free parking on weekends. City of Eugene street meters operate Monday through Saturday. More parking options.

Hosted by Downtown Eugene Merchants, City of Eugene Cultural Services and Glamour Girl with Betty Snowden.
