Visual Arts Week begins at Lane Arts Council’s First Friday ArtWalk. Join us for the opening remarks at the Farmers Market Pavilion as we announce awards for the Mayor’s Art Show and acknowledge recipients of this year’s Community Arts Grants. While you’re there, enjoy live music, an artists’ marketplace and a lantern-making project led by BEAM. At the end of the reception, you can choose to join a tour of new public art installations from the Cultural Currents initiative or embark on your own self-guided tour of downtown gallery exhibits and performance art specially curated for Visual Arts Week. Be sure to visit the Downtown Library to see the opening of this year’s Mayor’s Art Show!
Walk or roll your way downtown to enjoy many forms of art during Visual Arts Week, including Windowfront Exhibitions, art galleries and unique public art installations.
Visual Arts Week celebrates the visual arts and provides a platform for experimentation, creativity and dialogue. Art is a shared interaction, cultural exchange, and a powerful communication that compels us to think, feel and connect. Celebrate the visual arts with us!
